Clinical Notice: Standardized risk probabilities calculated via the 2024 AHA PREVENT™ equations (Khan SS et al., Circulation 2024;149:430–449) and the 2013 ACC/AHA Pooled Cohort Equations.

Modified ADA Diabetes Risk Score: Modified from the ADA Diabetes Risk Test (Bang H et al., Ann Intern Med 2009;151:775–783). Differences: adds current smoking (+1) and dyslipidemia (+1: total cholesterol > 200 mg/dL or HDL < 40 mg/dL); defines high blood pressure by treatment or systolic BP ≥ 140; caps BMI at 2 points (≥ 30 kg/m²). Categories: low < 5, moderate 5–6, high ≥ 7 points (maximum 11). The modifications have not been independently validated; the published validation applies to the original ADA Diabetes Risk Test. Family history means a parent, brother, or sister with diabetes, as in the original ADA risk test (Bang et al., 2009).

Risk categories: PREVENT 10-year ASCVD risk is categorized per the 2026 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Management of Dyslipidemia; 2013 PCE results per the 2018 AHA/ACC Cholesterol Guideline. Lifetime risk follows Lloyd-Jones DM et al., Circulation 2006;113:791–798.
